How do I adjust the size of my mpeg file?
I'm trying to use Ulead to add chapters to my mpeg video. The size of the mpeg is 1.67 gb, but when I add chapters and try to burn it onto a dvd, it says it needs like 9.36 gb of disk space. Does anyone know how I can keep the mpeg size at or below the 4.7 gb limit on my cd? I'm a total amateur at this, so if anyone can explain it to me in layman's terms that would be appreciated.

You should be able to watch it through itunes (or quicktime) on a computer where your itunes account is 'registered'. You can not copy to a different computer unless your itunes account is active on that computer as well.

You will not be able to re-compress the video - it is locked based on your itunes user name.

Which camcorder is better panasonic Nv Gs250 or Jvc Everio Gz hd3?
hi guy.......I wanna buy a new camcorder for making amateur digital movies and I am between these two choices:

Panasonic Nv Gs250 a 3ccd minidv OIS camcorder

or

JVC Gz Hd3ag a 3ccd HD , 60 gb internal Hard disk EIS camcorder

each one of them has its drawbacks

the problem with the PANASONIC cam is that it records in minidv tapes which gives a headache in transferring the videos from the camcorder to the computer and also it doesn't include the hd video ability which would be a great drawback in the future.

the main drawback for the JVC cam is its videos extension as it uses .tod or mpeg-2 which is not compatible with most of the video payers and video editing programs and raises the need for using a video converter program which is again another story.

one last thing that have an effect in my decision is that panasonic camcorder is supplied with its own external microphone where as If I want to buy an external microphone for the JVC camcorder I have to buy externally and in the country I am living its extremely hard to find and external camcorder microphone in the market.

The idea of using a miniDV tape-based camera is that you capture the video from the camera to your computer using capture software, and it comes in raw, uncompressed. The .TOD file format was created by JVC, to be used by their high-definition camcorder range. The .TOD format is simply an MPEG2 formatted video file. If you wish to view the file on your computer, it is reportedly safe to rename the extension from .mod to .mpg. MPEG-2 is the format used for a DVD once it's be authored. You can order an external microphone on-line or on eBay, etc. BTW: The only way to get full HD on a disk is to author it as Blu-ray and you'll need a burner for that. Plus whoever watches it will need a Blu-ray player to see it in HD.

JVC Camcorder .MOD file format?
I am looking at purchasing a new camcorder and came across this JVC model GZMG330A.
Looks great, has all the features i am looking for. I want to do some amateur video editing and need to be able to easily transfer the video to my computer. The reviews say it captures in a .MOD format, but the manual lists the format as MPEG2. Some reviews said that the included software was necessary to convert to MPEG. Is anyone familiar with this format and can help advise my decision to purchase? Ideally, i'd like to record to a format i can easily use right from the camera.
